Complete ERP 2.0 Guide for Malaysian Vehicles
Our LTA-authorized workshop at 10 Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2A, #03-18, Singapore 568047 (AMK Autopoint) provides ERP 2.0 OBU installation services for Malaysian-registered vehicles. From 1 January 2027, all vehicles entering Singapore must have an OBU installed; without one, motorcycles face S$3 daily charges and cars face S$10 daily charges. All-inclusive pricing is S$262.25 for motorcycles and S$420.30 for cars, with installation taking 30–60 minutes. Appointments can be booked via WhatsApp at +65 9789 8985.
What is ERP 2.0?
ERP 2.0 is Singapore's next-generation Electronic Road Pricing system. It replaces the old gantry-based system with satellite technology (GNSS). Every vehicle on Singapore roads — including Malaysian-registered vehicles — must have a new On-Board Unit (OBU) installed.
The OBU is a small device fitted to your vehicle. It uses GPS to track when you pass through ERP zones and automatically charges the correct toll. The old CashCard system will stop working when ERP 2.0 goes live on 1 January 2027.
Key Dates You Need to Know
• 1 April 2026 — OBU installation opens for foreign-registered vehicles
• 31 December 2026 — Subsidized OBU device rate (S$158.70) expires
• 1 January 2027 — ERP 2.0 goes fully live. All vehicles must have OBU.
• 1 January 2027 — VEP fees increase (cars: S$35→S$50, motorcycles: S$4→S$7)
The earlier you install, the better. Workshop slots will fill up as the deadline approaches.
Who Needs to Install?
All vehicles that enter Singapore need the ERP 2.0 OBU. This includes:
• Malaysian-registered motorcycles
• Malaysian-registered cars
• Malaysian taxis (mandatory)
• All other foreign-registered vehicles
If you ride or drive into Singapore even once after 1 January 2027, you will need either an OBU or you will pay a daily flat-rate ERP charge.
How Much Does It Cost?
At our LTA-authorized workshop, the all-inclusive prices are:
• Motorcycle: S$262.25 (OBU device + installation + GST)
• Car: S$420.30 (OBU device + installation + GST)
The OBU device itself costs S$145.60 (before GST). The rest covers professional installation by experienced technicians. There are no hidden fees.
Note: Some vehicles may need an External Battery Device (EBD), which costs an additional S$196.20. The technician will check during installation.
What Happens If You Don't Install?
From 1 January 2027, vehicles entering Singapore without an OBU installed will pay a flat-rate ERP charge:
• Motorcycles: S$3 per ERP operational day
• All other vehicles: S$10 per ERP operational day
This charge applies every day your vehicle is on Singapore roads during ERP hours. If you enter Singapore 20 days a month on a motorcycle, that's S$60/month — more than the one-time installation cost within 5 months.
Additionally, VEP (Vehicle Entry Permit) fees are increasing from 1 January 2027:
• Cars: S$35 → S$50 per entry
• Motorcycles: S$4 → S$7 per entry
